Story

Rawa ´94The guitarists Arek Bleszynski and Bogdan Szweda reamed up in 1994 to form the duo SCHAU PAU-ACOUSITC BLUES. At first known as "Szweda & Bleszynski", they played at the International Blues Festival RAWA BLUES ´94 in Katowice (Poland), in the company of the Blues Greats like: Tonny McPhee, Nicky Buzz, Joanna Connor Band (USA). Next year they played there again, this time with Irek Dudek Symphonic Blues (Poland) and Junior Wells (USA).

Rawa ´99Their blues is a combination of two acoustic guitars and a mouth harmonica. Bleszynski and Szweda masterly wield their instruments, whreas their co-operation with brilliant violin player Jan Bledowski, who came later to the band, splendidly enriched their music. Bledowski´s electrifying violin is absolutely exellent.

Schmölzer Blues Tage 1998As trio SCHAU PAU played at the International Jazz Festival JAZZ FAIR´97 in Poznan, at RAWA BLUES´97, in Dueren at DUERENER JAZZ-TAGE´97 and one year later at SCHMOELZER BLUES-TAGE. In Dueren they should play together with Luther Allison, who died however briefly before the Festival. To his place occurred his son - Bernard Allison.

The musicians superbly exploit the simplicity and power of blues to create a unique atmosphere and unconventional mood. Their music is a conscius reaction to thedious drone of some kinds of contemprary music against which the band sets the specific rules of blues which at the same time define the way they play and live.

Dürener JazztageSCHAU PAU ACOUSIC BLUES includes compositions by John Lee Hooker, Robert Johnson, Muddy Waters, Luther Allison as well aas their own bllues tracks with original and surprising arrangements.

SCHAU PAU ACOUSTIC BLUES have received great critikal acclaim in France, Belgium, Poland and Germany. Their concerts have been broadcast in Poland and on the Channel 5 and in WDR in Germany. Enthusiastic reviews have been published in "JAZZ FORUM" and "BLUESMAN".
